A group for those playing in my experimentally plot-less zombie survival RPG to discuss tactics, ask questions and just generally have survivor-related fun.
Gaelcon is once again on the way. This years convention is back in the fantastic Ballsbridge Hotel and takes place from the 26th to the 29th of October.
We have some really promising things in the works this year, but the most exciting thing for a lot of people are the fantastic RPGs and Larps we have on offer every year. These of course are only possible with the enthusiasm and hard work of our amazing writers, so we are once again calling on your aid to make a selection of games that really shines.
So as you’ve probably guessed from all this we are now accepting submissions for RPGs and Larps for Gaelcon 2012.
So now on to the meat.

I would have felt that the inclusion of the "ETC Style" event would have brought it more in line with the ever growing 40K community in Ireland, which is going from strength to strength and certainly not being "dominated" as you put it.
Any changes in the decision to include Forgeworld and I will let you know. In the meantime the organiser has given me a "no".
Hope this helps. Thanks for the feedback. Read More...
Proposal of an attacker and who your attacking happens before exhausting your attacker
That makes sense with hammer of justice and other cards now
All my holding onto cards and waiting with open resources for your turns to hammer/send back stuff you try to attack with is done with this in mind Read More...
Will we be getting to play the Hallows End or the Feast of Winterveil events? Obviously Hallows End is gone, but I'd read the kits were being sent out late. They have some nice cards to play for and the mats are sweeeet!
Along the same lines Realm Qualifers details have been released on the main site. We going to see any of that action? Need me some Deathwing cards Read More...
Bit disappointed to hear that, given that the rules are actually official. Had thought that Warpcon was big enough not to be ETC dominated. Read More...
Brian has the most current answer that can be given at present re Forgeworld. The tournament organiser will most likely be sticking with the smae style format as the above mentioned rulespacks with a few minor tweaks.
The event will be brought in line with the new ETC rules format, meaning a change in overall build from 1750 to 1850 points. There will be 5 games (3 on the Sat and 2 on the Sun) in which you will have differing victory conditions. Each game will have a Primary and Secondary objective, with a breakdown of Victory Points further influencing the result. Using these the competition will include Swiss system for continuance in the competition as per usual.
The use of Forgeworld as per the Forgeworlds rules available will not be allowed, though you are encouraged to bring your toys to represent existing 40K vehicles should you so wish. ie. a Chaplain Dreadnaught may be used as a venerable Dread etc.
Hope this helps,
